Reading is a place we love to shout about. Our history, culture and colourful characters are unrivalled in Berkshire and the accommodation we offer is next to none. However, it is nice to get out into the wider county to stretch your legs and see what else the area has to offer. Here are our favourite day trip, a short distance from your serviced apartments in central Reading
Stanlake Park Wine Estate – 20-minute drive
It’s not often that we get to visit a working vineyard and winery right in the heart of England so if you get the opportunity to visit Stanlake Park Wine Estate, don’t miss out. The estate has been in operation since 1979 and produces some of the highest quality vineyards and grapes in the region. They produce a wide range of English wines including white, rosé, red and traditional-method sparkling wine. They offer friendly informal vineyard tours & wine tastings every weekend, all year round with Nico Centonze, Stanlake Park’s skillful Italian winemaker. Most importantly, the tour includes the tasting of 6 delicious homemade wines! It’s a unique opportunity to witness a working vineyard in action.
