Reliable and effective airflow assessment, ventilation, and humidity control are mandatory in health care units, cosmetics and food industry, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The air flow equipment helps in controlling the ventilation in a sterile environment and helps in the containment of airborne pathogens. This equipment used in the medical and pharmaceutical industry helps in maintaining appropriate humidity and temperature that limits the spread of airborne infections. The HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment) manufacturing companies help in the planning, installation, and servicing of this equipment. More
People nowadays are reverting to natural remedies that could make them healthy. And there are plenty of supplements that cover boost immunity especially the one that is organic such as barley supplements.
First, let’s dissect Barley and the Supplement, for a clearer and better understanding.
What is a supplement?
Supplement coins are the term that supplies beneficial effects, being a manufactured product taken by mouth as a pill, tablet, capsule, or liquid.
As you can see, supplementation has a history that dates almost as far back as we do. With its recent resurgence and rise in popularity, one thing is for sure, supplementation isn’t going anywhere. It’s going everywhere!
Dietary supplements come in the form of pills, capsules, powders, gel capsules and tablets, extracts, or liquids.
Barley, on the other hand, is a member of the grass family, a major cereal grain grown in temperate climates globally.
Barley grass is nutrient-packed with vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, antioxidants, and phytochemicals. It has Vitamins A, B, C, E, and K. For minerals, it has zinc, calcium, and iron. Electrolytes include Magnesium, Potassium, and Phosphorus. And phytochemicals are chlorophyll and carotenoids.
With this, here’s a list of how barley will aid nutrition in your body.
Can help lower cholesterol
A diet high in soluble fiber — which barley contains — has been shown to lower total cholesterol and “bad” LDL cholesterol by 5–10%.
In one five-week study in 18 men with high cholesterol, eating a diet with 20% of calories coming from barley lowered total cholesterol by 20%, reduced “bad” LDL cholesterol by 24%, and increased “good” HDL cholesterol by 18%.
May benefit blood sugar control
Barley may help lower blood sugar and insulin levels, which may reduce your risk of diabetes.
Whole-grain barley is a good source of fiber, including the soluble fiber beta-glucan, which slows the absorption of sugar by binding with it in your digestive tract.
In one study on 10 overweight women who ate barley or oats plus glucose, both oats and barley decreased blood sugar and insulin levels. However, barley was far more effective, reducing the levels by 59–65%, compared to 29–36% with oats.
One-half cup (100 grams) of uncooked hulled barley packs 17.3 grams of fiber, or 69% and 46% of the RDI for women and men respectively.
Dietary fiber increases the bulk of your stool, making it easier to pass through your digestive tract.
Barley may help relieve constipation. In one study in 16 people with chronic constipation, 9 grams of a sprouted barley supplement daily for 10 days followed by a double dose for 10 days increased both the frequency and volume of bowel movements.
Consuming barley grass is one way of strengthening the immune system. It has more vitamin C than oranges to boost your immunity.
Keep in mind that Vitamin C is not produced in our body, so you need to get it from the food you consume. It is more effective when consumed every day to prevent colds.

According to research report the global Genome Engineering Market is projected to be valued at USD 3.19 Billion in 2017 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 14.5% to reach to USD 6.28 Billion by 2022. Lucrative North America markets to offer significant growth opportunities for the genome editing market in the coming years. This can be attributed to the development of gene therapy, increasing use of genetically modified (GM) crops, and rising availability of research grants and funding in the U.S., and government initiatives and the intensification of genomics R&D in Canada.

Companies in the U.S. are developing their own gene therapies. For instance, in May 2015, Bluebird Bio began seeking approval for LentiGlobin, a gene therapy for beta-thalassemia, a blood disorder. These treatments are expected to be the first gene therapies approved in the U.S. Cold Genesys, Amgen, VBL Therapeutics, Advantagene, and UniQure are other companies developing gene therapies. Additionally, U.S. is the world’s largest producer of GM crops (Source: Worldwatch Institute). According to the Center for Food Safety (Washington, D.C.), in 2015, up to 92% of corn, 94% of soybeans, and 94% of cotton was genetically engineered (GE) in the U.S. Moreover, the adoption of herbicide-resistant corn has also grown significantly, reaching 89% in 2015 (Source: U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Government institutes like the CDC and the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) have provided funds and grants to support research in this field. For instance, in November 2014, the CDC funded USD 1.4 million to state health departments in Connecticut, Michigan, Oregon, and Utah to support cancer genomics for cancer diagnosis. Each department will receive USD 325,000 to 350,000 each year for five years (Source: CDC)
Furthermore, NHGRI also funds programs and projects as a part of its strategic plans. Some of the funded programs and projects including USD 1,000 Genome (for the structure of genomes), 1,000 Genomes Project (for the structure of genomes), and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) (for the biology of diseases. Industry players in the U.S. are focusing on collaboration, acquisition, partnerships, and agreements, among other strategies, to enhance their market shares. This has contributed directly to the overall development—and subsequently, the growth—of the U.S. market. For instance, in March 2016, Thermo Fisher (U.S.) acquired Affymetrix, Inc. (U.S.), a provider of technologies that enable multiplex and parallel analysis of biological systems at the cell, protein, and gene levels. The acquisition integrated Affymetrix’s major product groups into Thermo Fisher Scientific’s existing businesses.

The Canadian government has undertaken various initiatives to boost the gene engineering market in the country. In July 2016, Genome Canada funded genomic research projects across health, agriculture and agri-food, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture, environmental, energy, and mining, among other sectors. Additionally, Canada initiated a strategic plan towards funding genomics-based downstream research and development (R&D) projects. This includes the Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP), initiated by the Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI). Furthermore, according to the Canadian Cancer Society, 196,900 new cancer cases were diagnosed in 2015, as opposed to 191,300 in 2014. Cancer is the largest cause of mortality in Canada, having caused 78,000 deaths in 2015—30% of the total deaths. The rising incidence of cancer, which will augment the need for diagnostic procedures, is likely to boost the growth of the genome editing market in Canada
Fire-Resistant Fabrics are a necessary requirement in the industrial sector as the employees in the industrial sector are exposed to harmful environments that might risk their lives. The fire-resistant fabric acts as a shield that protects them from such an environment. These workplaces contain extreme heat and exposed wiring that might shock the workers.
Fire-resistant fabric is a unique type of private safeguard equipment intended to safeguard you against fire risks is FR clothing. Although it isn’t fully “fire-resistant”, FR clothing reduces the danger of getting burnt in case of an accident during work.
If a fire erupts, the clothing made of the fire-resistant fabric itself will take fire, first. It is intended for immediate auto-extinction of the fire. So, once it is ignited, it will not continue to burn but will give the wearer a specific time to get rescued without sustaining any burn injuries.
There are two types of fire-resistant fabric which are different in their composition and functionality.
Fabric is a mixture of fibers which creates a garment when combined with other fabric parts. The manufacturing phase between fiber and garment may be considered as fabric. Those textiles that have been treated are those that have been applied to make them flame resistant. Fibers are generally not regarded as protective for these fabrics. Because of chemical therapy, they become flame resistant.
Usually, 100% cotton fibers or a mixture of cotton and nylon are the fibers in these textiles. The textile made of cotton fibers has a low resistance to abrasion with respect to durability. The nylon fiber fabrics that are added have a much better performance against abrasion resistance. Treated materials operate well on utility applications, oil and gas, chemical applications and petrochemical applications.
Given their purpose which is safety against fire, the treated FR clothes need extreme care particularly ones with the durability of 1.5 grains or less (25ppm). Less hardness is optimal because hard water includes salts which can leave deposits on the fabric. These deposits can neutralize the flameproof characteristics of the clothing. Deposits could even be used as fuel if the clothing is subjected to a source of ignition.
Treated fibers are those with a fire resistant chemistry that is used during the phase of fiber formation. This makes the fibers fireproof or flame-resistant. Tissue produced of treated fibers is resistant to fire for the clothing life. Normal wear or laundry cannot remove the flame resistant chemical. Only when torn or soiled, the robe would no longer be flame resistant.
Lenzing FR is a manmade cellulosic fiber. The fibers are handled and are flameproof forever in the process of fiber formation.
A blend of cotton and Modacrylic fibers would be a different kind of fiber. Manufacture produced from this fiber blend has a smooth and comfortable hand like cotton. There are smooth and powerful parts to the Modacrylic fiber added. It is chemical and solvent resistant as well. This makes these kinds of fiber ideal in settings which are flammable.
These fiber types are somewhat more common applications. Industrial apparel, services and job uniforms for firefighters are excellent matches. Like treated textiles, treating fibers are advised to be washed in the same manner. Too difficult water may leave reservoirs that can ignite if subjected to an inflammatory source. The only important distinction between treatments for both kinds is that the modacrylic/cotton blends are handled with non-chlorine bleach in smooth water because they weaken the textile.
Fire Resistant Fabric
There is no chemical treatment for inherent fabrics and fibers. The flame-resistant characteristics of fiber chemistry are crucial. These fabrics are developed by making the fibers flame resistant. The inherent fabrics and fibers cannot, as a result of ordinary wear or washing, waste their flame-proof characteristics. The fire-resistant fabric thus produced remains flame resistant throughout the life of the garment, provided maintenance and care instructions provided by the manufacturer are strictly followed.
The most common intrinsic fibers are modacrylic fibers. It is mainly used in combinations with other intrinsic flame resistant fibers. Modacrylic fibers are often paired with different percentages of the imide fibers of lyocell, para-aramid or polyamide. These combinations create a long-lasting material that conforms to CAT2 NFPA 70E and 2112. NOMEX is also common as an intrinsic fiber. NOMEX comes as a stand-alone fiber or as a mixture with KEVLAR in clothing apps.
The petrochemical, electrical and utility sectors contain inherent fabrics and fibers. Firefighter station-wear and switch out equipment is another common application. For use in welding or around molten substances, most intrinsic fabrics and fibers are not suggested. The care for materials and fibers inherent is the same as the types that have been treated. Soft water is suggested because hard water has mineral salts which can leave the fabric with insoluble reservoirs. The flame resistant characteristics of the rope can be negated by these deposits. Nor is chlorine bleach advised because it weakens the textile.
The application of flame resistant chemicals makes these materials flame-resistant. To provide some degree of flame retardance, a chemical additive in fiber or therapy of the fabric is used. Chemically dependent substances depend during a fire on a chemical response to extinguish the fire. The heat from the fire and the moment that the fabric is subjected to fire trigger this response.
Whether protection with a fire-resistant fabric has been compromised is very hard to determine. Testing is possible. Unfortunately, all these test techniques are damaging and the dress can hardly be tested without destroying the dress in the flammable or arc flash test without determining its present flammable strength and arc safety.
Flame-resistant (FR) properties, on the other hand, cannot be washed away or worn away from inherently flame-resistant fabrics. This does not compromise the flame-resistant characteristics of intrinsic fiber clothing. It is vital that the person wearing it always knows the flammable protection is not 100% indestructible.
